Converse County Sheriff’s Office has full-time employment opportunity for RECEPTIONIST! Under the administrative direction of the Converse County Sheriff, the Receptionist performs a wide variety of general office duties while providing exceptional customer service and adhering to strict confidentiality guidelines.  This is a full-time position and includes County benefits.

STARTING PAY: $44,000.00 - $47,000, DOE

JOB SUMMARY
The job summary is a generalization of the position requirements. Other duties may be assigned.
  • ADMINISTRATIVE/CLERICAL: Provide administrative support to the Sheriff’s Office which includes various administrative tasks, such as stocking and inventorying office supplies; receiving, sending, or routing Sheriff’s Office mail and/or packages; assisting with equipment inventory; inputting data and uploading files into different operating systems and spreadsheets; assisting in compiling the weekly media summary; assisting with public records requests and releases; processing background and fingerprint requests with applicable staff; provide support to Sheriff’s Office administrative staff.
  • FINANCIAL & STATISTICAL DATA MANAGEMENT: Assist the Sheriff’s Office with various administrative data driven processes such as timesheets, inventory, and grant requests. Submit accurate data to Federal and State entities for monthly reports. Submit reimbursement requests. Accurately code and monitor medical invoices for payment processing.
  • PUBLIC RELATIONS: Performs law enforcement related customer service to the general public and internal customers. Answers main phone lines in the Sheriff’s Office and directs calls appropriately.  Works directly with the public and office personnel in handling complaints, questions, and general assistance.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES & COMPETENCIES
SUPERVISORY RESPOSIBILITIES: This position is a non-supervisory position.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent, and one year of customer service, office management, and/or accounting experience; OR, any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved.
  • LANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to read and interpret documents such as data summary reports, financial reports, and inventory reports.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • REASONING ABILITYAbility to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed written and/or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with emotionally charged persons and/or situations.
  • OTHER REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIESAbility to perform manual tasks and to work independently with little or no supervision. Experience with law enforcement records management preferred, but not required. Physical demands include the ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time; ability to carry files and organize them in file drawers; and ability to walk short distances.
  • CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS, OTHERMust possess and maintain a valid Wyoming Driver’s License of required status; ability to be insured under the County’s automobile insurance coverage; must be at least 18 years of age. CPR/First Aid trained.  This position is subject to satisfactory criminal background check, which may include a polygraph, as well as a drug and alcohol screening.
